Frugal Phils.

1. the grid-i can visualize the grid onthis website. it just seems a bit small and cramped. A bit crowded.

2. The color palette is reds and oranges. I don’t really like the red. It is not that calming to be at this website. You can use red but in the website, it just makes me anxious.

3. The navigation is simple. Its always in the same place. I always where i am because the square around the link shows me. Cool points for the frugal phils website.

4.  The design principles- They utilized all their space. Making it crowded. It seemed like maybe it could have a little more room to breathe. More whitespace, like what we learned.

5. The typography is good. We learned that there should three types of type. There is the logo, which also looks like the same navigation, and then there is the body text and bold text. Good job on the typography.

Its hard to tell who the target audience. Well.. actually anyone who wants a good price.

The Principles of Beautiful Web Design… q&a

  1. What is “Grid Theory” and why is it important to web design?  Grid theory is the theory of proportions. It is the dividing of the page mathematically to make a good composition. Its important because grid theory helps make the webpage pretty. And we want pretty.
  2. In addition to “balance,” what are the other design principles important also to Web design? Symmetry is good to have in your webpage. And also whitespace. Sometimes, (most of the time) webpages need space. Whitespace helps the webpage seem less cluttered.
  3. What are the “Bread and Butter Layouts” in web design? Bread and Butter Layouts are the common layouts that you probably see all the time in internet land, such as left-column, right column, and three column navigation.
